Structure of the examination

The examination consists of a written and an oral part.

In the A2 examination, test takers must complete tasks involving all skills. The first part consists of reading, listening and language elements with task types such as multiple-choice questions or matching exercises. In the writing and speaking section, test takers are given a variety of prompts and have to respond, expressing themselves either in writing or orally. The test taker interacts with a partner as well as with the examiner in the oral section.

telc German A2+ Professional is available as a digital, hybrid and paper-based exam. It can NOT be taken as a partial examination.

What can learners at CEFR level A2 do?

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) defines six levels of competence: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

Learners at A2 can understand commonly used expressions.
They can communicate in simple, routine situations that involve a simple and direct exchange of information about familiar and routine matters
They can describe their background and education, as well as things related to immediate needs.
